Michelle, registered social worker provides counseling and therapy in Central Alberta.

Michelle Teskey

I’m a registered social worker (RSW) and licensed to provide therapy in Alberta. Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years working as a paramedic. That frontline medical experience shaped how I understand stress, trauma, crisis, and the real‑life pressures people carry — and it continues to guide the way I support clients today.

My work is grounded in evidence‑based practices and a trauma‑informed approach. I focus on creating a space where you feel safe, respected, and understood while we explore what’s going on in your life and what you want to change. I pay attention not only to the individual, but also to the environment, relationships, and systems that influence your well‑being.

Professional Background

I hold both a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and a Master of Social Work (MSW) with clinical specialization. As a registered social worker, my services are covered by most insurance providers.

Clinical Training

My education and ongoing professional development allow me to offer specialized therapy and mental‑health treatment. Additional training includes:

  • Advanced Social Work Practice Graduate Certificate

  • Trauma‑Informed Practice Graduate Certificate

  • Grief Counselling and Treatment Certification

  • Introduction to Narrative Therapy
